Training

We are passionate about equipping people with the knowledge and skills they need to not only live fulfilling lives, but also to support others in their communities. Knowledge, when kept to oneself, has little value, but when shared, can be transformational, creating a ripple effect.

If you have an area of need in your community, please let us help equip you to more effectively respond to it. We can provide a variety of training options to suit your situation. Please email Mairi to discuss your ideas.

Below you’ll find some training themes we have addressed in the past… just as a starting point.

  • Anxiety

We live in an incredibly anxious world, and yet there are ways to understand and manage anxiety. We look at the causes of anxiety, it’s value when in proportion, and how to effectively manage it so that it doesn’t manage you.

  • Suffering

Suffering can feel endless, cruel, and defeating when we experience it. How can we not only understand the role of suffering, but growth through it, and find meaning in it? This workshop takes a spiritual approach to God’s role within our suffering.

  • Parenting

A look at the joys and challenges of parenting in our modern age, with lots of strategies and opportunities for discussion. We focus on grace filled communication with our children, which builds relationship and mutual respect.

  • Grief

Geared towards those who are grieving, and those around them, this workshop offers practical and thoughtful strategies for navigating difficult times. We look at normal grief, as well as complex grief, touching on a variety of different losses we might experience in life.

  • Pastoral care basics

Helping churches build healthy communities through active listening and practical support. This very practical training provides key strategies for caring for a wide range of people within your circle.

  • Addiction

How do we understand addiction, and what strategies can we use to recover from it. This workshop will look at the impact of childhood attachment, trauma, neurodiversity and other factors which contribute to addictive behaviour. It will offer practical hope for recovery.

  • Neurodiversity

How do we understand neurodiversity, in ourselves or others, ensuring that we are living to our full potential. We offer a range of workshops on this topic, focussing on individuals, couples and families.

  • Self care

As our world gets increasingly busy, we are starting to recognise that we were wired for rest, not just work. We will look at the concept of self-care, consider why we need to challenge our struggle to engage in it, and look at practical strategies for incorporating it into our lives.

  • Attachment

We are increasingly becoming aware of the role of healthy attachment in a healthy life. But what is it, and how do we get it if we did not experience it growing up? We also look at the role of spiritual attachment and how this can transform our lives.

  • Flourishing

What does it mean to flourish in life. With the starting point of Positive Psychology’s 6 elements of a flourishing life, we work on building a custom plan for our own lives, incorporating the aspects of our personality and calling which make us who we are.

  • Forgiveness

Forgiveness can be a difficult thing to consider. We look at it within a biblical framework, seeking to understand what it is, and what it is not. We set clear parameters around the nature of forgiveness where there has been abuse or serious harm, and how we couple this with effective boundaries.

  • Custom workshop

Talk to us about your training needs. We are happy to develop a workshop on a wide range of mental health topics.
